Vampire Facial, also known as PRP microneedling or “blood facial”, is a cosmetic treatment that uses the regenerative properties of your own blood. It includes drawing a blood sample from you, extracting the platelet-rich plasma, and applying it to your face after microneedling to stimulate collagen production.
Unlike microneedling alone, Vampire Facial incorporates PRP for better healing and skin quality. Here at Eau Claire Body Care, we call it the ‘Liquid Gold Facial’ because of PRP’s yellowish color and its treasure trove of benefits as a skin rejuvenation therapy.
You can use our microneedling with plasma as a facial for wrinkles, acne scars, hyperpigmentation, enlarged pores, and more. Our Vampire Facial is also safe for most skin types!
With Vampire Facial, we combine two skin healing technologies: microneedling and platelet-derived skin therapy. Here’s how the Vampire Facial process goes:
First, we’ll clean your skin and apply a topical numbing cream. While waiting for the numbing cream to take effect, we’ll draw blood from your arm (around 2 teaspoons). We’ll seal each blood vial in preparation for the next step.
For the next PRP facial step, we place your blood samples in a centrifuge machine. This machine spins fast to isolate the platelet-rich plasma (PRP) of your blood, a yellowish substance we call the ‘Liquid Gold’.
With the numbing cream now in full effect, we’ll perform microneedling on your skin. We use a medical-grade device with tiny needles that creates tiny injuries on your skin to stimulate a natural collagen boost.
Lastly, we apply the PRP directly into your skin, using it as a natural serum. The tiny injuries from microneedling allow PRP to penetrate deep into your skin, making the platelet-derived skin therapy even more effective in enhancing your skin.

Here are common questions about platelet facial therapy answered by our specialists!
Yes, a Vampire Facial is safe as long as it’s administered by a licensed and qualified professional. Choose a provider with proper sterilization techniques and extensive experience in PRP microneedling. But as with any cosmetic procedure, you should always consult with a trusted provider to see if you’re an ideal candidate for Vampire Facials. Individuals with active infections, blood disorders, uncontrolled diabetes, and who are currently pregnant are advised to avoid Vampire Facials due to potential microneedling risks.
The ideal Vampire Facial sessions vary, but we recommend starting with a package of 3 to 6 treatments for most clients. Take note that your PRP facial frequency depends on your individual skin condition and desired results. On average, individuals with moderate wrinkles, scars, or uneven skin tone will require more facial sessions than those with mild cases.
If you want to know how many Vampire Facial sessions you need, you can book a consultation with us at Eau Claire Body Care. Our specialists will personalize a Vampire Facial just for you!
You should avoid most products for skincare after PRP. Specifically, you should avoid harsh products like chemical/physical exfoliants, alcohol-based products, and makeup. Instead, you should a gentle cleanser on the first 3 days while your skin heals from Vampire Facial.
The results of Vampire Facials last for 12 to 18 months, depending on your age, lifestyle, and your specific skin concerns. To maintain the results, you can always get maintenance PRP sessions from reputable medical spas like Eau Claire Body Care.
Yes, some individuals may experience mild peeling or flaking after their Vampire Facial, also known as Liquid Gold Facial. This mild peeling is part of your body’s natural exfoliation process as a newer and healthier layer of skin emerges.
Never pick at your peeling skin, as this can lead to infection and irritation. Allow the loose skin to fall off naturally, which should resolve within 3 to 7 days.
After a Vampire Facial, you should sleep on your back and keep your head elevated for 2 to 3 nights. This is to minimize swelling and bruising, while avoiding touching or rubbing the treatment area. You should also place a towel on your pillow to catch any residue that may come from your face. Also, always use clean pillowcases to avoid potential infection.
You can see the initial results of a Vampire Facial within 1 to 3 weeks. In the next 4 to 8 weeks, you’ll notice your skin getting firmer and your overall skin tone becoming more even. Within 3 to 6 months, you’ll experience continuous collagen remodeling, which will further improve wrinkles, scar depth, and skin thickness.
Still, some clients may need multiple sessions to achieve their desired results. Also, factors such as your age, sun exposure, lifestyle, and health will affect how fast and how long you’ll see results from Vampire Facials.
Microneedling with PRP can cause some discomfort, but it’s not necessarily painful. The microneedling pain level is considered mild to moderate, which most of our clients can tolerate. Still, the pain level depends on each client’s pain tolerance. To keep your Vampire Facial as comfortable as possible, we apply a numbing cream to your skin to minimize the discomfort.
Vampire Facial and Vampire Facelift both use platelet-rich plasma (PRP) derived from the client’s blood. The major difference is that Vampire Facial uses microneedling to apply the PRP, while Vampire Facelift combines PRP injections with hyaluronic acid dermal fillers. While Vampire Facials rejuvenate the skin on the surface level, Vampire Facelift targets volume loss by injecting fillers underneath the skin.
Vampire Facial cost in Eau Claire ranges from $400 to $1,200 for a single session. For a package of 3 sessions, you should expect to pay around $1,000 to $3,000, depending on the inclusions of your treatment.
Medical spas like Eau Claire Body Care offer special discounts for Liquid Gold Facials when you book multiple sessions. At your consultation our staff will discuss with you any specials or discounts available for the Liquid Gold Facial.
Both Botox and Vampire Facial offer anti-aging benefits, but the right choice depends on your desired results. If you have deep, dynamic fine lines, you should consider getting Botox to relax the wrinkle-causing facial muscles. If you’re looking to improve your skin tone, reduce scars, or boost skin elasticity, consider a Vampire Facial.
Whether you’re considering Botox or Vampire Facial, you can get them both from us at Eau Claire Body Care. Contact us today for an expert consultation!
Yes, a Vampire Facial, also known as PRP with microneedling, can help reduce sagging by stimulating the body’s collagen production. However, Vampire Facial can’t tighten severely loose skin. In such a case, you should consider other treatments like chemical peels, dermal fillers, or Botox. If you’re unsure which of these treatments suits you, feel free to book a consultation with us today!
