HydraFacial has been a popular way of getting an amazingly radiant glow for your face. A skincare treatment that does wonders for your skin while giving it a healthy boost. Teens, adults, and even seniors can enjoy the benefits of this treatment.

In this blog post, we’ll talk about how the process of HydraFacial works, its benefits, and the pre-treatment and post-treatment care you should follow.

Understanding HydraFacial

How long does a hydrafacial take?
A non-invasive treatment that has worked for thousands of clients, HydraFacial continues to deliver outstanding results to both men and women. The multi-step process works by combining cleansing, exfoliation, extraction, hydration, and protection in one simple service.

HydraFacial is fully customizable to match your skin type. You can talk to your esthetician to check which serums would work best for your face. Plus, you have the option to schedule a HydraFacial every 4 to 6 weeks, as it does not cause any skin irritation or swelling. This makes it safe for everyone—teens, adults, and even seniors. The best part? No recovery period is needed, as each session is painless and can be done in less than an hour.

Preparing for a HydraFacial Session

Once you’ve set an appointment, your Eau Claire Body Care esthetician will talk to you about preparing your skin. Pre-treatment support is always available, as we want you to have the best possible experience in our medical spa center. Follow these guidelines to get fabulous HydraFacial results:
  • Refrain from exfoliating. Make sure not to put any exfoliating agents like glycolic acid or enzymes in the area at least 48 hours before treatment.
  • Discontinue acne medication such as benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid.
  • Avoid too much sun exposure and tanning products. UV rays damage your skin, so we recommend you avoid excessive UV exposure at least 3 days before your session.
  • Do not shave, wax, or use depilatories 48 hours before your treatment. This is meant to avoid any kind of irritation around the area.
  • Refrain from any chemical resurfacing treatments (peeling) and laser treatments as they can make your skin more sensitive. This also puts your skin at risk for irritation and redness.
  • Do not wear makeup on the day of your session. Cosmetic products like foundations can interfere with the cleansing process and may prevent the treatment from being as effective as possible.
  • Schedule 2 to 3 days before an event. If you’re booking an appointment specifically for an occasion or event, we suggest that you book a few days in advance. This ensures there is no visible redness on your face on your big day.
  • Calling all registered nurses, NPs, medical doctors, dentists, and physician associates!

    The HydraFacial Process

If you’re wondering what is involved in a HydraFacial, then let’s talk about it here. In this list, we break down the steps in a HydraFacial treatment. This is exactly what your skin goes through during the process.

Cleansing – removes oil, dirt, and debris from the surface of your skin. It typically unclogs your pores and takes away impurities to give your skin a little deep clean at the start of the process.

Exfoliation – bid all those dead skin cells goodbye. The HydraFacial process ensures no single dead skin cell will block the hydration procedure. Exfoliating your skin will already give it a brighter glow.

Extraction – the tip of the HydraFacial wand actually acts as a vacuum to get the deeply-seated dirt and gunk out of your skin. Blackheads and whiteheads are surely gone after this step.

Hydration – after extracting gunk and whatnot, comes the exciting part of the treatment. Getting your skin hydrated with an infusion of serums feels like no other. Like an oasis in a desert, this step revitalizes and moisturizes your skin giving it all the nutrients it needs to glow naturally.

Protection – the last and final step to achieving a youthful, radiant glow. The Vortex Fusion Technology of HydraFracial infuses your skin with antioxidants and peptides to protect and rejuvenize it.

The average time for a HydraFacial is about 30 minutes to less than one hour. Since it takes just a little time in your day, it’s easy to squeeze in an appointment on a normal weekday.

You can also schedule on weekends whichever works best for you. However, more clients usually book services on weekends. So if you prefer a more comfortable medical spa experience, we suggest off-peak days when booking a HydraFacial.

    Longevity of a Hydrafacial Treatment

Since the booking and actual Hydrafacial process time may seem quick. The visible results are instant too. Right after your session, you will find your skin feeling hydrated, supple, firm, and clean. But the question is, how long do the results last?

On average, the benefits you get from a HydraFacial lasts up to 7 days. But for some clients, it lasts from 1 to 2 weeks. HydraFacial benefits and duration vary depending on your skin type, skincare routine, diet, and overall lifestyle.

Remember that whatever treatment you get done, you can maximize its benefits when you take care of your skin. If you have any inquiries or concerns, we’re happy to help. Just book an appointment and we’ll take care of the rest.

    Benefits of a Hydrafacial

How long does a hydrafacial take?
You know the drill! You already know the basics. Now we move on to enumerating all the goodness and benefits you practically get after scheduling your HydraFacial sessions.
  • Instant glow. As we mentioned earlier, you can see results right after your treatment. Enjoy the instant glow on your face just after your first session.
  • Smooth and even skin. Since your skin was deeply cleansed and gunk has been extracted, you will feel your skin smoother and more even than it used to be.
  • Clearer, smaller pores. Unwanted blackheads and whiteheads are now gone from your pores. After treatment, your pores will visibly look clearer and smaller.
  • Hydration boost. Since your esthetician will assess your skin before your treatment, serums will be custom-fit to your current skin condition. Leaving it hydrated with all the goodness to make your skin even more supple and radiant.
  • Long-term effects. Regularly scheduling HydraFacial sessions allows your skin to absorb the beneficial antioxidants each serum is packed with. Long-term use of this treatment will eventually result in lighter fine lines, and smoother, and more hydrated skin.
  • What to Expect After a Hydrafacial

A HydraFacial is a non-invasive treatment that works by extracting dirt, oil, and gunk from your face while also hydrating and infusing it with serums. There is no downtime or recovery period for this kind of procedure.

The only thing you will notice apart from the famous HydraFacial glow is some redness around the area that has been deeply cleaned. This should go away in a couple of hours and would not need any kind of cream or topical medication. Giving you ease and comfort to include a session in your busy day.

    Aftercare for HydraFacial

Now that you know the benefits of a Hydrafacial, the next one to note is the aftercare. Proper aftercare provides you with a longer-lasting result and will keep your skin glowing and healthy.
  • No picking! Don’t pick at your skin. Picking can cause irritation, and sometimes, infection. We advise you to avoid touching and rubbing your face right after treatment.
  • Makeup can wait. You didn’t wear makeup before the treatment to get the best results, so don’t wear makeup after either. Makeup can clog your pores and it’s best to wait 48 hours after your treatment to wear makeup again.
  • Use a gentle cleanser. We cannot emphasize more that your skin will be sensitive right after the procedure. Using a mild cleanser will help avoid post-treatment irritation.
  • Avoid the sun for the next 24 hours. Use a broadspectrum sunscreen with SPF30 if you need to go out in the sun.
  • Hydrate. Drink plenty of water. Make sure to gulp down those 8 glasses every single day. This doesn’t just benefit your post-treatment aftercare. Drinking water also makes your skin healthy.
  • Choosing the Right Medical Spa

Apart from looking at the credentials and qualifications of a medical spa, it is also paramount to look for one that understands what a patient needs. Each patient has their own set of goals for their skin, with different needs, and skin conditions. Choosing the right service provider is crucial to help you get positive results.
    Other factors you should consider:
  • Cleanliness. Medical spa facilities should maintain high standards when it comes to sanitation and cleanliness. Sanitized treatment rooms and sterilized tools and equipment are a must.
  • Client reviews and testimonials. Clients who already received treatment prior would be the perfect candidate to give true-to-goodness advice. Research past reviews and gauge whether their experience is what you want to have. You will see dozens of available video testimonials all over our website from various past and current clients.
  • Consultation process. The best medical spas are client-centric. Here at Eau Claire Body Care, we prioritize our clients more than anything else. During a consultation, we make sure to review your medical history, understand your needs and goals, and ultimately inform you of all the things you need to know about the treatment you want to avail.
